Effective June 15, 2025, Trains in the Valley will no longer be accepting O Scale or O Gauge collections for purchase.
This decision was made after careful consideration, and we’d like to share a few of the key reasons:
- Slower Resale – O scale and O gauge items generally sell at a much slower pace compared to other scales. As a small business, we rely on quicker turnaround to reinvest in new inventory.
- Storage Limitations – These items take up significantly more space, and with our new train shop still under construction, storage space remains limited.
- Pricing Challenges – We’ve consistently encountered a mismatch between the prices sellers expect and what we can realistically offer. In many cases, the perceived value of O scale items leads to us overpaying, making it difficult to recoup our investment.
